In The Atlantic this morning, I argue that the strategy being bruited about in the House of withholding the articles of impeachment to induce rule changes in the Senate trial is both futile and counterproductive. A link to the article follows:

I agree with you. If Sen. McConnell wants to stoop to the depths of servility and the oath that he has sworn and the one that he will will not stop him, then let him go on record as doing so and let the voters take his behavior into account when he stands for reelection. The Democrats should not allow themselves to be goaded into relinquishing the high ground. Once acquitted by the Senate, Mr. Trump will soon be back desecrating the Constitution.
